Our Mission is to create quality homegrown and handcrafted wines and  share the joy of winemaking with our customer.

Linn Slocum began as an amatuer winemaker in her home and decided to turn her hobby into a business venture.

In August 2009, Linn opened Blue Slip Winery. A first for Knoxville.

Our Business

We feel Knoxville's Old City is a great location for Blue Slip Winery  because it provides a storefront to a melting pot of forward thinking people with fresh innovative ideas. Our customer is looking for something different, and we are certainly that.

Our Community

We work in a great community and have partnered with other small businesses in  hopes of providing our residents and tourists with a fresh unique city experience. 

We strive to share local art, local wares and local foods with our local wine.

What is a Blue Slip?

Blue Slip is a weekend pass for fun, an escape  or a ticket to ride. Literally, Co-Founder, Jeff Galyon attended McCallie Boarding School in Chattanooga, TN. In order to get to leave campus for the week-end, he recalled having to get his Blue Slip signed by his teachers. Their signatures authorized his departure therefore The Blue Slip was a very good thing to have!

While trying to decide on a name for the new venture, Jeff asked Linn what she thought when she heard the term, Blue Slip. Unbeknownst to why he was asking, Linn said, ' is it a boat slip"? 

Once Jeff told Linn what it meant to him, they thought others would be intrigued about the name and ask why, Blue Slip?

At the tasting bar, Blue Slip has been a popular topic of conversation. It seems,  Blue Slip means different things to different people, just like wine.
